Based in Vancouver, Canada, Russell F. Hirsch writes middle grade fantasy and short fiction for adults. His writing has appeared in several literary magazines. He's particularly passionate about myths, fairy tales, and folklore, and he regularly performs as an oral storyteller. He also analyzes great children's literature on his blog, Storythreads.

 

Russell holds a BFA in Creative Writing and an MA in Children's Literature from the University of British Columbia. When not writing, he teaches public speaking to elementary and high school students, takes long walks in the forest, and goes questing in search of ice cream.
